Art in the Park Recap

This spring, we kicked off our very first Art in the Park sessions, a new community event that brings families together through creativity and outdoor play. In April, kids got messy with watercolors and finger paints. In May, they had fun experimenting with collage and mixed media. We always start with a story and some songs during circle time, then everyone has time to create, play, and hang out. The event is a great way for parents and kids to connect with others in a relaxed, welcoming space. After making art, kids can explore outdoor play stations with water, mud, and garden activities that encourage hands-on, sensory fun.

Process art is awesome for little ones because it lets them express themselves, build confidence, and practice their fine motor skills without any pressure to make something “perfect.” When you mix that with open-ended outdoor play, kids get even more chances to move, solve problems, and socialize. Best of all, these events are totally free and open to everyone because we believe every family should have access to meaningful, play-based learning.
